Glendora man killed in motorcycle crash By: Tahoe (Calif.) Daily Tribune "A man killed Friday in a motorcycle crash in Northern California has been identified as Glendora resident Douglas Lloyd Gardner. Gardner, 45, was expected to teach at Cal Poly Pomona in the fall and was an active member of the Rose Float committee, college officials said. He lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle west of Spooner Summit between Lake Tahoe and Carson City when he swerved to avoid wood in the road, said Kristina Citro, his passenger. The motorcycle landed 50 feet down a ravine in Glenbrook Canyon. The 4:25 p.m. accident Friday closed Highway 50 in both directions for about 20 minutes. Gardner and Citro were wearing helmets. Gardner was decapitated the guardrail, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported. Citro, who ended up in the brush, was transported via Care Flight helicopter to the Reno hospital with a dislocated knee and elbow injury. Citro said she had been dating Gardner for about a year. "He had a good sense of humor and love of life," she said. Citro said Gardner was in the insurance business."
